A title of a game usually doesn’t give much to what the game is really about. In this case however, Gun Fighter is basically what the game is. Taking very little from the imagination, Gun Fighter is at times fun to play, especially with friends. Sadly the lack of diversity in enemies and the unnecessary representation of the character you play will mostly bring you to find little to care about in this game. Gun Fighter is basically a shooting game that takes very little risks to bringing something that is just simply fun.
No matter how hard one tries, making and following a budget is a hassle. You have to save your receipts, record all your purchases, add up your expenses, calculate how much you have left to spend and save or monitor travell rewards & subcriptions. Most of the time, that final number sends you into complete shock, and you wonder how your money goes so quickly.
Well, you’re not the only one who feels this way. About half of adults say they are concerned they have not paid enough attention to managing their finances, and 48 percent are concerned they don’t know enough about financial planning.
Block Struggle is probably the game that comes to mind when you think about match-3 games. The screen is full of squares of various colors, and your job is to swap adjacent color square to form matching lines of three or more. This makes those squares disappear and new ones fall into their place. If you’re clever, you can engineer combos that give you lots of points and create explosive square.
If you have a few minutes, or few hours to spare, and are looking for something challenging, yet fun, this is a great way to end your boredom.
Find the Way is a fresh and exciting game. It is an experimental game in which you must flow through a space and be on the right path at the right moment in order to get out.
Find the Way is quite simple. Players need to guide “snake” with pentagonal shape across each level. On its exciting journey, it will explore 12 mazes and 4 exotic strange worlds. In each level, players can learn the right patterns progressively and collect secret artifacts hidden, and many levels have strange and surprising boundaries which make this game a unique experience.
This crazy game of poker continues between Apple and Google in what has been dubbed by some people as #mapsgate. Today, Apple CEO Tim Cook stepped out and apologized for the poor experience that its 100 million iOS 6 users were experiencing trying to navigate the world using their new offering.
Well played, Mr. Cook.
I don’t mean that sarcastically. The letter that Tim Cook and Apple PR wrote was a bold move, but a necessary one for consumers and shareholders alike. It showed that Apple isn’t afraid to say “hey, we didn’t nail this one.” If you remember, no such declaration was made after Ping’s launch and subsequent failure.
Apple has changed its iOS developer guidelines, adding a clause (on September 12, a source tells me) that reads: “Apps that display Apps other than your own for purchase or promotion in a manner similar to or confusing with the App Store will be rejected.” That’s a change that could have wide-reaching effects, especially on promotion models that offer developers a paid top slot on app recommendation offerings like FreeAppADay, Daily App Dream and more.
Developers routinely hand over large sums of money to promotional and marketing agencies to get their products more downloads, which helps propel them to the top of App Store rankings charts, which in turn promotes huge download numbers to help them recoup their initial spend and make money long-term. It’s easy to find agencies offering this kind of paid bump via simple Google search. Developers using these kinds of strategies aren’t necessarily pushing bad products; getting attention in the App Store is notoriously difficult, and any help counts.
Harvest Lands is the newest Simulation & Family game from Little Hero Games Inc. Harvest Lands is not like any other app I’ve played thus far. I’m a download junkie and I’ve played quite a few; some are fun, some don’t last too long and end up getting deleted but this one is actually interesting and fun.
This has a significant affect on the world of Nummies as the quantities are running low and stocks are dropping like hotcakes. Eventually protests break out and they soon become riots – not a pretty site! In secret those in the restaurant world are meeting to devise a plan and that plan means starting a private program to find hidden or new supplies of Nummies.
There are lots of games now that you can play “with Friends.” It started with Words, then moved on to Hanging, Chess, Scramble, Matching, and now Gems. Gems with Friends continues the long line of casual, asynchronous multiplayer games that lure you in with addictive gameplay. Still moving away from word games, Zynga has created a new Match-3 game that is more accessible for those gamers who don’t prefer difficult tile puzzle games, but it might not be the overwhelming success Zynga is accustomed to.
Gems with Friends uses very simple rules. Match three similar gems for points. Gems match if the number of the gem is the same as at least two other gems in proximity. When these gems are placed next to each other, you earn points and a new gem. For instance, if you match a line of 1 gems, you earn a 2 gem. That gem is now worth more points, and it appears in the spot where you placed the last matching gem. The higher the number on the gem, the more points you earn for making a match.
While these rules may sound easy, there are tricks to dominating your friends. First, you’ll need to play fast. Placing gems quickly earns you stars, which increase points earned. If you take too much time to place your next gem, the number of stars you have decreases.
Second, create chains. Chains of matches can happen if you can place your gems in the right spot. If you can match a series of 1 gems right next to an incomplete series of 2 gems, you can create a chain reaction that will earn you a jackpot in points and a 3 gem.
Third, learn to use your bonus gems. The game includes several types of bonus gems, which can be used as wildcards to complete a set. One bonus gem freezes time, while another will increases your number of stars. Each bonus gem can be upgraded to further broaden their powers.
Once you take into account all of these elements, Gems with Friends can become a frantic game of chain reactions, bonuses, and stars. You only have two minutes for each round, so you’ll need to play often and fast. Each game consists of three rounds, and whoever wins the majority of the rounds is the winner.
The only problem with Gems with Friends that we can see is that it’s not for everybody. The gameplay can be learned quickly, and it certainly is addictive. However, the fast-paced element may not suit everyone’s style. Each game board begins differently, with pre-placed gems waiting to be used. If you know what you’re doing, you can place the right gems in the right spots for combo chains. For those who like time to think the game through, like in Chess or Words with Friends, this game doesn’t offer that experience.
Zynga is certainly no stranger to multiplayer games, and Gems with Friends is a welcome addition to the franchise. It’s a close cousin to the Matching with Friends game, but the mechanics of numbered gems with combo chains is new enough to make the game feel fresh. While its fast-paced action may not suit all gamers, Gems with Friends is sure to win over lots of people.
Apple shuttered MobileMe Galleries in June, which many Mac users were happily using as photo albums for sharing on the web.
Apple has made a small step back toward photo sharing with Photo Stream sharing, which is now a part of iOS 6 and iPhoto and Aperture on the Mac.
The implementation is flawed in many ways, but here’s how it works.
On the iPhone or iPad go to Photo Stream in your Photo app and press the + button. That will allow you to name your collection of photos. Type in an email address (it must be someone on iCloud) and decide if you want the stream posted publicly or not. If you make it public you will get a URL so anyone can see it. If you are keeping it to other iCloud users, your album will show up in their Photo Stream collection, and they will get a notification that it is available. You’ll get a notice back when they subscribe.
The iPhone 5 is here.
I’ve had the opportunity to play around with the latest iPhone for the past several days. I won’t beat around the bush: it’s fantastic.
Of course, you’re probably expecting me to say that. But that doesn’t mean I’m wrong. The fact of the matter is, you can either listen to me or lose out. You’re going to want this phone.
